Interesting instructions for your digitizer

I am a franchise but one of the few who actually digitize in house. talking with other franchises....

Them: "Anyone know how to prevent puckering on this thin material"?
Others: "Heavier backing""Thinner Backing""Spray Glue""Slower speeds"
Me: "Fix the file"
Apparently they sent it back to the digitizer 3 times to try to get it to run nicer with less puckering, but convinced them to sent the EMB to me. Tweaked sent back. All for free cause the satisfaction of being right while i still learn.

Them: "OMG so much better!"
Them: "oh hey do you have our logo that runs good the official one puckers a lot"
Me: "Yes but it is bigger than the offical. This file is meant for stretch poly, and thin twill, Use 2 layers cut away, and load it in a 13 hoop"

Them: "Oh it was too big for us so we resized it but then it puckered"

.....*facepalm*

Me: *explains why it would pucker if they resized it... then resizes edits settings and test runs on awful thin strech materials no puckering, sends file, pictures, instructions...."

Moral.... Don't change size/edit without knowing how

Client: "Please sew this design backwards because we are going to sew it upside down and that will make it sew forwards"

Client: "HI! please digitize this 24 inches wide for a tablecloth, thanks!"

We ask: "Hi there!, can you sew something 24 inches in width or should we split into 2 or more sections for you? thanks"

Client: "no, our largest sash is 22 inches wide so we will just reduce on the machine, thanks!"

hmmmm (do ANY machines remove or add stitches when sizes are changed at that point? ) My machines will keep the same stitchcount when reducing... not the best for quality I would think, depending on the design of course.

I was asked to digitize a logo for one of the local (South African) church groups. Curving over the picture part of the design were the words "Cease the heart of Jesus with me". I'm like "What????".
Then I realized that with 11 official indigenous languages plus English and Afrikaans, someone who was not an English speaker had misinterpreted the word "Sieze". Thank goodness they agreed to the change when I pointed it out.

hahahaha. nice catch! i've gotten some misspellings through the years. Smokey Mountains, instead of Smoky, and i see a good many where they don't put an apostrophe where it should be, or they'll do "TN." where the period isn't necessary. once i had one where a word was really misspelled, i don't remember what it was...but they wanted to keep it misspelled on the embroidery because that's how it was on their signs, etc.

did a quote.. client then asks if there would be an additional charge for the "face" to be a different color.... no.. but do you mean ONLY the face or the ENTIRE body attached to the face?

WELL, because we are STOPPING work on all other designs until these 15 are complete... so yes, you will pay the additional fees. We have to then field calls from others who are wanting their jobs as well.

and WHY do you have 15 designs that are rushes? improper planning on your part does not an emergency make for me. sorry.

15 rush designs. My goodness, what a dolt. I had a customer place an order for some apparel last week. I gave her an estimated day or arrival and she called three days later asking me why I hadn't finished her order -- as if I had direct control over shipping and customs regulations. Fools.

My question on a quote: "what white parts in the design get embroidered? the small lettering in the banners would just be running stitches and probably not legible at the size they are wanting, just too small for embroidery"

answer from client: "What size would this need to be in order to be all seen? Remove the small lettering inside the banner, do as running stitches."

Remove the lettering AND do them as running stitches???
