Default Laptop or desktop

Ok guys I thought that laptops were soon gonna replace the desktop, but it seams the desktop are making a come back. I am thinking of changing myself.(due to my stupid video card in my Alienware laptop going out and the hassle I had to go through to get a new one which you have to buy from Alienware only..argh) So what about you?

I have built/rebuilt both desktop and laptops for my wife's embroidery. She uses desktops at work and home and laptops when at shows etc. Having both makes it easy, just transfer the software and dongles as needed.

I would love to have a laptop... then I could work at home or at one of my kids' sporting events (during a time there not playing)... BUT, I will deal with having just one good-running computer!

Right now.. I run EVERYTHING off a cheap Acer laptop a bought at best buy, it was only about $400, and so far its awesome and runs fine (its been almost 2 years).
Though i am going to upgrade to a Dell desktop within the next few months..

Also, I use a NetBook, its really for internet only, and 1/4 the size of a regular fullsized laptop. It's awesome for on the go work and traveling
