Default Looking for Advice

This only my second post but I'm looking for machine advice. I'm in the market for a used machine and looking at a 2004 SWF 601C. It's in great shape and has been used very little but has only the floppy drive. I'm trying to find out:

1. How costly and how much of a pain it is to convert it over to use a flash drive.
2. Is the Sierra software easy to learn or, is there something better out ther.

We have 2 Melco machines now and they are 15 years old and not supported any longer. We use Design Shop software but we're running Windows XP and if the computer (7 yrs old) goes, our software won't install on a Windows 7 computer. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance,

Steve
