Default Looking for a vastex registration system

I am in the market for a pin registration system. Half tempted to create my own set up as I own a small machine shop but thought if I could find a good deal on a used one I would jump on it.

The more I sit here and look at this the more I think I can make up a nice set up on my own. I am sure that I can source a bar with the pics on it. I could mount the bar to a table topped with nice laminate with the grid I use and place adjustable stops in three points. Once secured to the screens I could burn the screens as normal. I could then create an oversized pallet with the same adjustable stops. I could lower the print head, bump the stops with the screen and lock it down. I think this would work pretty easily. Anyone know where to get pin bars?

I tried making one for our shop like some I've seen others make. I never got good results, I think I understand why I didn't but I don't have the tools or machines to make the pieces precisely enough and good enough to work right. My boss wants to get a tri loc, I think it would be a waste of money though since our screen guy doesn't give a damn about the press setups and thinks regi systems are a waste and they don't work.

I'd be interested in what Robert means by his post. Maybe he's got something to add or has a way of making one that would be better. This is a topic I'd be interested in learning more about.

Come on, Robert.... Give up the goods. Whats on your mind? All I know is that I have been doing a ton of printing lately. I have set everything up with just a light board then getting them as close as I can then micro'ing them into place. I am just looking for a little more proficient way of doing things.
