Default Looping in one direction only

Hello, I finally registered after lurking for a while. I have an odd problem that no one has been able to give me a theory as to why.

My Singer Futura CE-200 (yeah...I know...Futura is probably my main problem ) only loops on top when it is stitching in the NW direction as I'm looking at the front of the machine. To counter this I have to crank the tension from E/3 all the way to 6. If I leave the tension at 6, the rest of the stitches not in that direction look awful and the bobbin thread comes up.

I have cleaned the entire machine, checked and rechecked bobbin tension, put in a new bobbin case, tried different needles, different bobbin threads, even took apart the embroidery unit and checked the belts and such in there.

Could this be a timing issue? Speed issue (for some reason the machine stitches slower when doing fills but it is something I don't think I can change).

Thank you for any and all ideas! And yes, I hope to get away from Singer soon, especially since the nearest dealer is 4hrs away.

Jaime E

I would suspect a hook timing adjustment.
