Default M&R Heatwave ??? Please M&R help

I bought a used HeatWave gas dryer a few weeks back and after dealing with the city and the gas supplier for weeks. I think it should be hooked up this week. The last guy had it setup for propane, and I will be using natural gas. What needs to be done to get it to switch it over. Any help would be great. I will be contacting support tomorrow, but I was searching tonight and thought I'd ask here. Thanks for any help in advance.

Mike

Hey Mike, you will have to contact M&R, have the serial number handy. They will tell you that you will need a different valve for natural gas. Our dryer had a natural gas valve on it, and at install they had to swap it to a propane valve. The valves have different orphuses and settings. More than likely, you will need a tech to change other settings since it ran on propane before. They, "may" be able to instruct you over the phone, but it's tricky dialing in all of the settings.

Also, make sure with this dryer, that you are able to have little to no 90 degree elbows on your exhaust your will have lots of issues with start up. It's very sensitive on sensing proper exhaust flow. We had to add an inline booster in our exhaust run because we had no choice but to have 2 90 degree turns in our piping and we still have the occasional start up issue. It's mainly that the alarm will sound, you have to hit stop and start a few times, but getting with M&R tech support is the best thing for you right now, they will be more than happy to help you out, great support team there.

Hey thanks for the reply....I contacted M&R and was told by the tech that on this dryer(HeatWave) nothing needed to be switched over, I was a little surprised since the previous owner told me he asked M&R and they told him a few changes would need to be made when switching over to gas....???... I only have one 90 right at the exhaust and then it runs straight up and out the roof. I was on the phone with them today and we needed to make an adjustment to the gas pressure gauge coming in since it was taking so long to heat up to desired temp. But adding more pressure fixed that problem. I am noticing that I am having to run my oven temp much higher (375*) than I had to on my electric dryer 330*(Workhorse Powerhouse) in order to get my ink temp up to 320* or better, and that is at a slow belt speed to get it there. I know this will be a learning curve but I would like to get this dialed in so we can crank it up and start pumping some shirts through it.

Do you have this same HeatWave dryer? What temp do you run yours @? One other thing we've cleaned the belt a few times but everytime it enters the chamber it seems to be getting some dark soot on it, especially on the zipper cover??? Any ideas what that is? If you have a chance give me a call if you don't mind. Thanks again for the input.
