Unhappy Machine selection dilemma ? ?

Hi everyone I need some advice on what to do. Not sure if you know but a couple of weeks ago I bought a Bernina Artista 200E. I got everything installed and it is running fine. I have made a few shirts and some towels as of now. Here is my dilemma. Before i bought it there was a very nice Pfaff creative 4.0 that was for sale. It was around the same price that I paid for the Bernina. I really liked it because it was newer, used updated software, and has a larger embroidery field. I believe it is 14"X12" or something like that. The bernina used Windows software and only has a 6"X10" embroidery field. Anyway the reason I didn't get the Pfaff is because the lady just dropped of the face of the earth and I thought it already sold so I bought the Bernina. Well the lady has gotten back in touch with me. Come to find out there was an illness in the family and she was away from the computer for awhile. The question is would you try and sell the Bernina to get the Pfaff or stick with what you have?I have heard very good things about the Pfaff and I know it used a more modern software with a format that is more compatible with other programs than the Artista is. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Paul

my vote would be to keep what you have until you need an industrial upgrade. Your gut told you to buy what you did, and you followed your gut.. let it stand... if you really wanted the Phaff you would have searched for another one or waited until you had a definitive answer from the lady you mention.

The reason I bought the Bernina is because I needed a machine and the lady with the Pfaff stopped writing back. I would really like the extra work room that the Pfaff provides. I think it would open up other options that the Bernina can't do. I am just wondering if it would be worth the hassell of trying to sell mine to get the other one. I like that the Pfaff allows the use of a USB drive to import images into the machine, it has a higher stitch count, and the screen is an HD screen so you can see what you are working with better. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul, I agree totally with Robert. Keep what you have!!!
If you really, REALLY find that you need the extra work room on a regular basis then rather have a look at an industrial machine. At the moment your machine is SLOWER than an industrial, only has ONE needle so you have to change the threads each time there is a colour change, you can't do CAPS unless you buy that weird gadget and getting some items ONTO the machine can be difficult.
I started with a smaller Bernina 330 (and still use it when I want a portable machine at an away venue), went to the 440 for a larger sewing field, but finally bought a 12needle single head - and it is THE BEST decision I made. EVERYTHING is so much easier, and faster. The only thing I regret is that I didn't go for a 15needle, as it would be nice to leave some colours permanently on the machine, or to dedicate some needles to ballpoints/metallics.
What software did you get? My Artista version6 designer lets me save in PES for the 330, ART for the 440 and DST for the industrial SWF machine.
Good luck whatever you decide.
Alison
