Default Need Help with Software

I have experience using a Tajima machine for the past two years had someone that digitized and everything. Im not at a new place and have the software to do it all. Tajima dg/ml pulse is what I currently have but have no clue how to even start to use it. I was hoping some of you may have training videos on basic use and on up. I really want to master my craft so all help is greatly appreciated.

i don't know about pulse, but i just switched software after 20 years of using the same one to wilcom....and i know they have a bunch of training videos both on their site and on youtube. you might want to try to look on the pulse site and youtube also for pulse videos. they may have a training class you can attend also. i went to a training class in atlanta for wilcom...

wow.. I would love to switch to Wilcom.... but feel "old dog new trick" problems... especially with our daily volume. SoonerStateStitcher if you need any help with technique send me a PM.. no worries. You realize there is no school for what we do... just trial and error. Take any involved design and send it to 5 different digitizers with the same instructions and i bet you a donut you will receive 5 different results.

you may find the learning curve for digitizing is NOT worth it... when that time might be better served selling.... or running the machine. trying to do ALL of this could be prohibitive in the profit line.

I am one of those insane guys who does digitizing inhouse. I will tell you your profit margins are better when you outsource. That said I do say that everyone should have matching software to their digitizer and at least have editing capabilities. It has a learning curve but the amount of time saved by being able to fix errors that don't run well in the design have saved me hundreds + hrs. a year in run time. You don't always see errors until you are in full production and you start seeing patterns of thread breaks or issues during a run. To get that kind of thing fixed you have to stop send a file back wait for them to send it back again ect. On the fly edits are one of the most important things to speeding up productivity.

The hardest part to learn is the actual Digitizing of the file. What is going to look good. The graphic artist part of it.

Tried to go to the website and youtube most of the videos on youtube are for people with some type of knowledge of the software I have none. My previous workplace had everything pre loaded and a digitizer we used. wish there was a training class I could talk my boss into getting me hooked up with.

I would also recommend going to one of the ISS shows.. there are at least 5 throughout the year. http://www.issshows.com/index.shtml there you will meet lots of people that are there to help you. attend some classes and stay after to talk to the instructors. hope this helps!

my old software company kind of quit with updates and i wanted to be able to provide emb format. i did a lot of research and really like some of the features in wilcom. i was really worried about learning a new software after 20 years too...but i watched some videos and went to the class. i did a couple of designs in my old software, and i did a few "hybrid" designs. did the more complicated stuff in my old software and what i could with the new software. it was kind of strange knowing digitizing but not the software...it was the opposite of when i started, but it really wasn't too bad. i've been using wilcom 100% of the time since a couple of weeks after class. i still have questions tho and wish they would offer an 'advanced feature' class. i've even created a couple of my own fonts now and i've only been using it about a month and a half.

you were using the wrong digitizer! i've always tried to get it right the first time...and if there ever are edits, i stop what i'm doing and get them out immediately.

it seems like they really should have a class that you can take. another option may be to find a digitizer close to you that you could hire to train you. i've done it once before. most people in this industry are very willing to help out others.
