Needle Drop Error

I have a Toyota 850. I turned it on this evening to run a design and it gave me a needle bar error. Anyone know what that means and how to fix it?

It can be caused by numerous things, but usually it is an indiation that the machine is not detected as being in its correct start position.

Basically there will be a 'position coder' on the main shaft and other detectors at various points which will keep track of where the machine is so it can time pantograph movement, jump stitches, trims, etc.

Such an error could be just a one off as the machine hasn't stopped where it should have, but otherwise it could be that one or more detectors are failing or have done.

Ususally there is a reset sequence which should be tried first. If that doesn't fix it then it will need servicing.

there is a sensor that reads the depth the needle bar drops when it picks up the needle clamp, sounds like over time it has moved and will need adjusting
