New Embroidery Business

I am looking for a program (software) to just do simple text and applique since all my digitizing will be outsourced. I was looking at Wilcom EmbroideryStudio e2 but do I really need all the features and does anyone know the price tag?

e2 is about $2k.

In my opinion, most inexpensive lettering programs will prove cheap results. Many software companies advertise that they have virtually unlimited keyboard lettering when really it is truetype fonts converted which ends up being sub par most of the time and only offering a minimal amount of true digitized alphabets. I would recommend going with a solid name like wilcom or tajima/pulse. You get what you pay for.

this months Stitches Magazine is their annual software edition... there are quite a few options that are more reasonably priced for the limited option you are wanting.. check it out.. subscriptions are free!

Hi jwongggg,

I know its a late reply but i want to pass this information that keyboard lettering is not 100% good. We digitizers, always edit little things and set underlays, density, pull compensation of keyboard lettering as per their size.

I googled "Stitches Magazine" and the first link sent me to this page: http://www.asipublications.com/Stitches/ on the right hand side is where you put in your information to receive your annual free subscription. every year or so they ask you to re-enter your info as that allows them to gauge the types of businesses that are reading them...
