Smile New to Forum

Hello all, I am new to the Forum, I am a Business Analyst and I have been an artist for many years. I have paid other companies to print shirts for events that I design and sell at events on the side or license my art. I recently bought an American Centurian 12 Color, 1o Head T shirt printing press and an M&R Guantlet S, 6 color automatic servo driven t shirt press. (the co. that went bankrupt was shut down and still had paint on all of the screens)

I wanted automatic presses so I could focus a lot on the design. I have done manual silk screen but no using auto equipment. I have signed up for some classes but I wanted some suggestions. I use Photoshop and I do scanning of my art but I have paid someone to separate the colors and print in the past. Any thoughts on the machines that I bought? Anyone suggest affordable training for someone to teach me to use the equipment? I bought the equipment and I will be purchasing compressors and chillers, wash out booth and exposure unit next. (hopefully used) The American is a big unit and takes up a lot of space but is supposed to be fast. I have though about just using the 6 color but not sure if I would need the big one in the future. I will start my new business in April so I am ramping up, have the building, taking training etc.

Any thoughts suggestions on equipment, training etc. Thanks!

Default Re: New to Forum

if you have a good(purpose built all black) printer, an exposure unit (a light table) and a good pressure washer you seem to be on the right track. I will say I love my 6/8 Trooper XL (and hope to rarely push a squeegee again) I think you are right to find someone to train you, But I wouldn't do it till you have all the pieces in place (wired up and working). I did 10 short runs before i called in someone to train me (I could ask better questions). where are you located
?
