Default New to retailing, How to attract customers...

getting in to retailing... been doing contract work out of my garage for 10 years , recently rented a retail space, Wondering what you guys do to attract customers.........

Best recommendation is find a niche and market hard into that niche and build your production around that.

I agree completely with ltpemb . think about and discover what you are passionate about and think of ways to sell to those markets. (if your passion shows through the money will come) Also with a new retail space think if it more as your professional "home" Nice candles or air fresheners, maybe a toaster oven baking cookies, you know things that smell nice and look nice. A wall of thread can be an actual work of art and a great conversation starter. Find out what they might be looking for and go from there. Can be FUN! make it so.

Anything can be your niche..... dollhouses (think of what you can make for people that make them) Seating area for the Husband that might find the shopping experience less than what they wanted or even for Grandma who would prefer you bring things to her. If you have window space plan out the seasons and have fun with that!
