Default Newbie needs advice on machine...

Hello all,
I am trying to decide between two machines and here are the options. They are almost the same price:

1. Refurbished 1995 Toyota 830 single head 9 needle with all attachments including cap system, software, training, 6 month warranty, but no stand and no USB option.

2. A 2-year-old Brother PC600 single head 6 needle with all hoops including cap attachment, software, stand, and some extras. Machine should still have some warranty left on it from Brother.

I do not know whether to go with the newer technology of the Brother or the commercial workhorse with 3 more needles. The Toyota can be hooked to a computer or you can transfer the designs through a floppy drive. The Brother has a touch screen, USB, etc. There is less than $1000 between the two machines with the Brother being the more expensive one. I am just very confused here, as the extra needles would be nice, but I like the touch screen and such of the Brother. Any suggestions here? Thanks in advance.

If you can connect the Toyota directly to your computer, you don't really need the USB IMO (for my SWF, I have to pay like $800 more for a direct connection. It comes with the USB or floppy option.) My machine does not have a touch screen, but it does have a display on the machine.

I'm really new myself, but I think I'd want those 9 needles. I have 15 and with some designs, that's still not enough.

Are there any other machines you are considering? Or are these such good deals that you can't pass them up?

Hello,

I went with the Toyota. It is a local dealer, they will bring the machine to me, set it up and train me. They will give me full value for the machine within the first 12 months if I decide to trade up, which hopefully in 12 months I will be looking at that. It was a very good deal and was a machine I could pay cash for and not have to worry about any payments while I am just starting out. My business is so far debt free and for now would like to keep it that way, as it makes it easier to get through your first year. Thanks and hope everyone is having a blessed day. ~michelle lord
