Newbie needs Software advice, for Ellegante

I just bought a used Ellegante 2. I am new to embroidery, and now realize I need software for my computer. What are some suggestions? I see I can buy PE Design on Ebay...new and used.
I am just confused what should I be looking at ...PE Design 5, 6, 7 or PE Design Lite?

It really isn't that complicated.
Tackle it in segments.
1) What do you need to do now. 2) What do you want to do a little later? 3) What would you like to do much later?
