Default The numbers

What is the expected profit margin, cost of t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, operating equipment, marketing costs, etc.? Basically I'm looking to see what the potential profit is by learning what a t-shirt will cost me, what I will sell it for after the screen print or embroidery and then what costs will I have to less out of that gross profit.

Thank you very much as I realize this will vary by area and market but estimations will do.
Also, would a local shot be willing to let me stand in and watch daily activities just so I can see what goes on?

that is a HUGE question you are asking and not an easy one to answer. Its not cut and dry and there are many many variables.

Its been discussed many times over at http://boards.screenprinters.net/. Best to go there, do a search, and read.

To add, most local people won't want you to observe unless they are well established and confident that you won't steal their business. Your best bet is apprenticing with someone who isn't in your immediate area or someone who's going to retire.

My question is kind of like asking what the weather will be like in three weeks!!!
I thought I'd give it a shot and see what feedback I'd get.

I appreciate the link to a previous conversation.

I'll probably call around and see if there are any shops willing to allow this but go in knowing it will be very unlikely.
