Robert
Thanks for making my night.
Reading this thread put a smile on my face.
It was better than the Sunday Funnies when I was a kid !

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
today, no image of the sewout, so not sure what really needs to change, but here are the instructions:
"We sewed this out on a cap and it looks bad. Our production team thinks if we reduced the size by 10% it should work"
yes, making embroidery smaller usually makes it sew MUCH better. ???

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
todays blog post. lol: for a quote:
Please quote the following straight-line embroidery layout: (OTF_Splat.png)(Orangetheory_Fitness_Logo_Linear.j pg WITHOUT \'Orange\')(Parker, Colorado) So it will be the orange splat next to \'THEORYFITNESS.COM\' and a space before the text \'Parker, Colorado\'

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
Instructions on an order:
"Run seam longitudinally around inner circle for clean edge to that circle."
design is just a solid square fill with a satin circle in the middle of the square... very simple. What do you think they mean?
Just using big words to mean put the correct underlay?

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
The sad truth is that most customers (and even in-house sales people) are often too stupid, lazy, or both, to write full and simple instructions.
The most frequent 'errors' I come across are:
Q. What size should the logo be? A. Left breast sized...
Q. Can you make it half the size? A. Half what size? Length or area? Response...Huh?
Q. Can you supply high resolution artwork? A. Will this 20 pixel Gif do?
Q. Can you embroider in Pantone 253? A. Pantone is printed ink on white paper...'blank expression'...never mind

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
From client: "They have requested changes to this original design, and I\'m not sure they\'re do-able. If changes can be made, would you let me know, and then I can let you know what they are asking, and we can see if they\'re realistic"
without knowing WHAT changes the end user would like to their design how can anyone tell you anything?
What do you think? am I missing what they are asking? I want to know if you can digitize something? no, I don't know what yet... but answer the question... can you digitize? yeah? ok, I want this 200 page book put on a left sleeve please. WHAT? you said you could digitize!@$#

Max size for pocket is 4"W

Re: Odd instructions for a Digitizer
today a client sends back a 3 yr old design with this question: "do you think this tape will work on Ogio backpacks, or would you suggest editing?"
Firstly I am sorry but was not aware that Ogio backpack material was considered "common knowledge" in our industry? so I googled the product and learn they come in several fabrics... so really at a loss how to answer the client.
(note , I say 3 yr old design, not that it matters, just pointing out that designs can have a long lifespan... whereas digitizers get 1 payday)

ah, but even that can be changed... here in Texas we have done some left chest designs 5 or even 5.5 inches wide! when you get into XXL and larger then the usual design sizes do not apply.
Normal jacket backs look awfully tiny on larger jackets.
