Unhappy Please please help me I'm so lost

I bought a Singer Futura 150 and I'm trying to embroider on a polo. I've tried iron on stablizer, tear away with spray adhesive, and cut away with spray adhesive. Everytime I put it through it gets stuck sewing in one spot and makes a huge nest in the bobbin case. I've adjusted the tension and speed. I know it's a really dense design but I don't know what else to do other than not make them. They were very helpful at Han***** but she made it sound so easy and when I tried it just wouldn't work. I'm glad I practiced on an old shirt because now there's holes all in it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm ready to throw in the towel.

Can you decrease the density of the design?

No I can only make the design larger or smaller. I added two layers of stabilizer and it seems to help but it is still nesting.

Where did you get the design?
Is there anyone you know with software who could look at it and check the density (and could change it)? It definitely sounds as if it is too dense.
Did you make the original design smaller?
Have you tried your sharpest needle?
Did you adjust your tension higher, or lower?
Did a lower speed help?
Have you tried enlarging the design and sewing it out - if it works OK when it's bigger then when you reduce your design you may be keeping the same number of stitches - and sewing them into the smaller area just won't work.

I thought my software was adjusting the stitches when I changed the size of the design but when I increased the size of the design I saw it had the same stitch count. I guess I will just stick with this size. Thank you all so much for your help. I guess I will eventually have to break down and buy the software if I plan on doing this a lot.

One thing I didn't hear in this thread. Did you put any wax paper under the stabilizer. This helps keep the glue from the adhesive from gumming up the needle. That might help.

If you think you are going to enjoy this (and it is enjoyable when things work), then get the best software you can afford. Go for design software, rather than just editing software. I have the Bernina Designer Version 6, which is REALLY versatile. Unfortunately I can't tell you about other software, as we don't have much else on offer where I am in South Africa. Good luck!

Why don't you send it to a digitizer and have them do it. Tell him/her your problem.
They will give you advice or even redo it correctly. It is always nice to have a perfect
design run without no problems.
