Default Poor Mans Business Plan

Hi Guys

Not that I'm anybody anywhere.

But I figured if a crazy post is good enough in one place way not another. And since I just joined here this is the stuff get

Well not really

Had a thread or two with "tonypep" today about the old days.

And the job I was printing today made me think of this.

Yes I started at 3, but it is the way I'm beating the heat right now. Afternoons are answering the phone, something on the grill and a beer......so leave me alone. ;D

The shirt I'm talking about is one I have done for along time, but when we first started the customer said I would like for the front to look like a patch, but we can't afford that............the ones that don't know where I'm going now good luck to you.

Ink companys have different inks to do different things...why...because someone was doing it, it looked good so they made a idiot proof ink that would do it. Comes in very handy sometimes.

Back in the old days, we used cleaning rags that could not be laid on anything because it would eat though.

Almost no real choices for ink.

Made our own screens and many Many other things that most of you will never know.

Where I'm going is this.

You can stay on top of your ink inventory by playing mad chemist.

I'm not going to talk auto talk just manual.

I make sure I'm ok on white('s), black and red
I buy lemon yellow for all my yellows and ath golds.
Ath Gold is the easiest gold to make with just a little red AND I Mean a little red.
I have sennie brown or a mix for all my browns all the way to flesh.
I make all the greys.
I have a good stock aqua.
I used to make all the lt blues but use to much of it now.
I buy navy and royal

I do have a few of the shimmers and such but not much.
And my glow in the dark.

Thats about it. but

want for it..................puff additive. :-*

A manual shop growing but that does not want to set a grand on the shelf can make due nicely on these unless I forgot one.

Yes I print reg inks ontop of a poly based ink.
I print poly jerseys with reg ink.

But the key is to do the best you can with what you got :>i

So here is the patch and I have got Really good jobs from people asking them where they got them.

I use two different squeegees a new 70 for the first print of base and from two to 2k prints I make sure it is even.

A 70 that is old enough to be a 60 but has a great edge 1 flooded hit and 1 dry one in a 280 screen.

Yes a 220 or less might work but it is bad art I have never fixed and I want to hold whats there.

You would really be surprised how many think it is embroided...NO I do not sell it that way. But I can't help what
they think ;D

Wet and done shirt

You can do many different effects that look like something else.

You can even get a distressed look with a watered down white on black 100%
