Default Printers and paper types for transfer designs.

I've seen several new (to me anyway) concepts of using standard printers and specialty paper to print your own transfer designs. Should I name them here?

Anyway, has anyone used these more than just for a test or two.

For example, they tout lower costs, in every aspect, compared to the DTG, mainly in the up front cost of the machine. Also no daily maintenance tasks.

Questions such as:

Actual ink usage for large fill areas of one color, such as red or blue? How many designs would get get out of a $100+ toner cartridge.

Details, are they crisp?

Printing white ink on dark colors, there's several concepts out there. What's the easiest and cheapest.

Just wondering, all advice appreciated.

Jim
