All embroidery machines have various position coders to let the machine know where the needle bar is, so that trimming, jumping, and moving the frame don't happen while the foot is down, or the needle is through the fabric.

It may be that the relevant coder has a fault or has been knocked out of alignment.

The first thing to do is try a machine reset. The procedure should be in the manual but the supplier will guide you through if you don't have one. Do remember to change back any settings if you have them different from default.

Otherwise, as I don't have a manual I can only guess, but look for a plate of metal (it may even be just a large screw) attached to the main shaft which passes close to, or through, some plastic block (they usually have some form of led light to show when they are detecting). Then, if you turn the shaft by hand to the correct stop position (where the needle is up and the pick up lever is in the home position). Check that the LED light mentioned is on. If the plate is in the correct place but the light is off, the sensor has failed. If the plate is in the wrong place and the light shows as it passes by then the plate should be moved. You can always do a secondary check of the detector by holding a piece of metal next to it.

Do make sure you know what you're doing if you make changes and mark items before you move them, in case you need to put them back, but good luck!
