Default Puckering

When you have to embroider a logo that is mainly fill stitch on something that is like a light performance T or performance Polo. What is the best way to have it stay nice and flat and not pucker the shirt? Is the key in a nice underlay or are there other factors involved?

Thanks!

when i embroider on performance t's i usually use 3 cut away backings and some adhesive to stick the shirt to the backing to prevent puckering. hope this helps

underlay is important, i would use a double, but wider fill-stitch underlay. as light of a density as you can get away with. no 'turn-fill' stitches. flat fill or satin only. make sure you hoop the backing with the shirt and don't stretch the shirt out when you hoop it.

Make sure your threads tensions are good and adding solvy on top can help.
