q runner trouble

the bulbs seem to be burning out at the ends where the porcelin is. seems the machine side is all charred. any fixes you know of. 80 dollar bulbs falling on the floor is unnerving. anyone know of a cheaper supply of bulbs. 18 inch quartz.
