Default Questions and more questions

I am new, so I will go ahead and apoligize now. I am trying to decide if I need to get a good digitizing software. I thought I would just outsource that but I am finding that I often want to make minor changes or turn a filled design to an applique but just don'tthink it is worth the cost or don't want to wait the time. When I am trying to create different designs I want to do it then What are your thoughts? What is a good program? I know your work is only as good as the digitizing. I have a Toyota esp9000.

Question 2: Anyone know where I can get the applique font GIGI double layer? I have seen it used but cannot find it anywhere to purchase.

If you are willing to share tips, I am alway open.

Thank you nad have a blessed day.
Sharon

Also I forgot to add...Is there a software that will allow "name drop" I will be doing items for schools that will require a main logo then individual names/numbers. It is time consuming when you are sending each individual design. Is there a better way?
Thank you.

Hallo Sharon,
Please keep in mind that digitizing is not is simple task. It will take month or even years until you can digitize complex artworks. And you need to have the time to practice at the beginning you will spend half a day or more to digitize a design. And you have to do a few sew outs before it looks good. If you are just doing embroidery you should take the time and learn it.

In my company we are two persons and we are doing heat transfer and DTG next to embroidery. I don't have the time to spend 6-7 hours in front of the computer to digitize a Logo. Here in Germany I can charge my customer 70 USD for digitizing and a digitizer will charge me 20-30 USD for a left chest design. So I made profit of 30 USD for sending an E-Mail. One day later I will receive a design which looks perfect.

We have an entry level version of Tajima pulse just to add names or text if necessary. If we get an easy Logo we can punch it too. You can also try Stitch ERA; free Software with a lot of features.

Try Stitch ERA with a few Logos and if you have fun digitizing you can still think about expensive software like Wilcom, Tajima Puls or Embroidery Office. And don’t buy the top level for 10.000 USD at the beginning, start with a lower level or buy an older version.
But it will take some time until you get good results.

I have never seen GIGI double layer Font maybe you can find something similar here: http://www.pulsemicro.com/embroidery/fonts#

Software with Name drop :

A used copy of Compucon creator plus or Wilcom es9 would work for what you want. It 's older software but does the functions you want. Copies show up here from time to time. I sold an older Wilcom ES9 for around $500.

I can tell you that if somebody will show you the basics you should be able to master it quite quickly. I had to figure the compucon out on my own. It works fine for me. I have Wilcom E2 level 3 but haven't had the time to go to Atlanta for training.
