Default Reccomendation: If you're just starting out, with no knowledge, ,,,,,

Ok,,,,,if a person was a pure newbie to screen printing, but understood the basics of the process, what would you reccomend he do to,,,,

1. what publications or web sites would he visit to learn screen printing from A,B,C,,,,, (sort of like Screen printing for dummies). Explaining terms, processes, etc.

2. what equipment would you recommend they buy. A complete system to make shirts up after a attending training class and reading and watching some training videos?

3. What would a realistic cost be for this type of equipment. Everything you would need to start screenprinting.

4. Where would you find the equipment?

I've read tons on here about this, but, nothing in order so as to learn the process. Sometimes, you just need to ask the simple questions.

I'll put it out to the board.

What is your budget?

Do you want to do like me and go as CHEAP as possible are do you want to just be done with it and ready to go (buying all new, good stuff)?

The budget would be around $18-$20k,,,,,,I want good stuff, prefer new as most times it comes with training classes and warranty, but, if there's some components to these sysems that you could buy used with confidence that they would work well due to their simple operation, I would consider that.

Also, some good info somewhere to explain, in detail, the process of screen printing from A-Z.

Again,,,,,all opinions appreciated.

With such budget there is no worries for you.
If you have no experience definitely take classes. Every major manufacture has packages to fit under your budget.
My personal would be
www.vastex.com
Excellent machines plus classes well under your budget and you will be printing in no time.

Sent an email to Vastex. We'll see what they say and how it goes.

You always have to look ahead and be willing to expand.

Thanks for the info. If anyone has other opinions or advice, feel free to send it on or post it here.

I do and Robert wont like it
www.mrprint.com They make excellent manual carrousels and just about anything you need. They are bit on more expensive side as you will pay for badge. I also don't know if they have printing classes, but you can call and find out.
