I really don't understand what the complaints are for. If the site's model doesn't suit your needs, wants or your idea of what a used equipment sales site then why are you here? I don't want to run anyone off but damn, it sounds like people complaining because they have nothing better to do. Brokers and equipment dealers use this site because it works for them I guess. Seems like plenty of listings and if you can't get something because someone else gets to it first then how is that Digitsmith's fault?

There are plenty of places to list equipment for free if you don't want to pay to list here. Seems like if this place was so awful it wouldn't get much traffic but it seems to be doing ok so ownership is probably fine with the way things are. I don't get anything for moderating because quite frankly I don't have time to really moderate the site any longer but at times I can do some things to clean up but it's not very often.

I'm not trying to **** anyone off but I was asked to come here and check this thread out and after reading it I had realized I just lost 10 minutes of my life I will never get back. I don't want anyone to take my comments personally but I know it will happen, but it's not my intent to get into an argument with anyone over the site's activities.

I get both sides of it and even more. I've been a member here for around 5 years and it's a great place to buy from other store owners when they're upgrading or closing. That's why I signed up. Lately I've been watching the embroidery machines because I'm looking to upgrade soon. It bums me out when I find what I'm looking for and before I can even message them I see the brokers have already bought it then a few weeks to a month later it's back on this site marked up $15k. There's nothing technically wrong with that, they're just trying to make a living. I just have to be faster with messaging to get it before the mark up. Just disappointing is all when I want to buy from another shop and the brokers swoop in.

First, I am not a dealer but I understand the need for dealers. When buying equipment from businesses you are usually going to have equipment issues to resolve, getting a warranty from a closing business is fantasy! The dealers buy and often refurbish this equipment and that comes at a cost but also comes with piece of mind. I don't know about most businesses, but I would rather get the equipment into my operation ASAP and start making money, NOT trying to figure out what's wrong with it and spend countless hours on a phone with tech support. The only reason any of us are on this site is to make money PERIOD!!! If you take your time and don't jump when the opportunity presents itself, then that's your problem not Digitsmith's problem. Part of being in business is being able to take calculated risks, being indecisive is recipe for failure in the long run......
