Re: Shur-Loc EZ Tension System
Meter sold today. Tension system still available.
I've run both Newman and Shur-Loc frames in production and consider the Shur-Loc to be a better option.
Newman is technically superior, but difficult to train people on and expensive in terms of time to maintain. They are also somewhat fragile. Even with a Roller Master table they are difficult to stretch properly and consistently.
Shur-Loc frames can be stretched by a child. Provided that they have the upper body strength to pull the lever, anyone can stretch these. They also have fortified screen edges to resist abrasion. Yes the screens cost money, but they deliver 85 to 90% of the performance of Newman Roller Master Frames at a fraction of the time. They are an F-150 Base solution compared to the Newman being more of a F-150 Raptor solution....
The tension apparatus bolts to a table you supply or make. I made one out of 2x4's and 3/4 Plywood. Rounded off the edges, painted it black with rustoleum and then 3 coats of polyurethane. Looked great and was easy to cleanup and keep clean.
