Default side of hat embroidery

client orders a 4 inch wide design for a hat....

then is upset because it doesn't work for the SIDE of the hat. (we had no way of knowing from their comments that it was for a side)

UH, sorry, we followed your dimensions, unfortunately the lettering will not work at 2.5 or smaller for the side of the hat... so the client wants a refund because apparently WE screwed up.

There are SO many businesses that pay good money to create designs without thinking of embroidered products. (I blame the ad agencies they hired there)... but common sense people?? we see embroidery on a daily... so you would think it would be pretty common knowledge what is possible in thread and what looks crappy? of course then you have a majority that will NOT use thinner 60wt threads... so then the perception is skewed. because the client SAW lettering a certain size, but YOU cannot replicate that because for monetary reasons (outweighing quality) 60wt is not an option in your shop.

that seems strange that an embroidery shop wouldn't know that a 4" design won't fit on the side of a cap. pretty much anybody that has seen a cap should be able to figure that one out.

that is what I was thinking.. BUT so many distributors hire "sales people" that know nothing about the mediums they are selling. OR you get new people in the industry who are sold a machine and software at a show and buy into the concept that it is all a piece of cake.... like exercise equipment within a few months it is in a spare bedroom never to be touched again.
