Small Business Start up

I am interested in starting a small business. I have a full time job and am needing something on the side to help and give me something to do during the summers. I was interested in a screen printing/embroidery. I of course do not want to spend big bucks right off the bat until I know that this will work. Any suggestions on equipment? Thanks!

It's a low entry cost industry and as such attracts many entrants. It's quite crowded at the bottom end. You can buy a cheap embroiderer or manual bench, the difficulty usually comes with getting the business in through the door.
