Small lettering Tears

I am new and have encountered a problem, When tring to embroider small letters/numbers I seem to get alot of tears in the material and it just does not seem to catch the thread. Would using a smaller needle make a difference ? I am using 65/9 is this to big for what I am tring to do. I set the speed slow at 500 .

Hi,

Needles should be used as per the cloth used. consult your manual to decide which needle to use with the cloth type you are using. Also this is not always due to your needles. It can be a digitizing fault. The density must be maintained at the right level for your design.

I will call but the lettering is 1/4 tall and says" Your Life Our Specialty" it just does not want to go without tearing the material even with several layers of backing.

Just on the fly it sounds as if the density is way off for the design. I sounds like it is pounding the same place over and over. EmbroideryDigitizing should be able to take care of that for you. Send the logo to them and they can make the changes.

I agree with JuBilee. It sounds like the lettering has too much density. Try decreasing the density and hopefully that will help your problem.
