Suggestions on what to start with?

Hi. I'm interested in buying an embroidering machine that would allow me to download designs off of the web. Cost is a huge issue, and I would like to keep it below $500, at least until I know if I can make a business out of this or not.

Any suggestion on what type/model of machine to look for? What's easiest to learn? Dangers to avoid?
