I have been in the industry for over 30 years working with screen printing and embroidery. I'm trying to find out your thoughts on embroidery machines. I am in the market for a new one and I am hearing the SWF might be closing there doors, any truth to this and what's your ideas for a new machine, brand?
six head.
Thanks

All the research I have done says SWF is a good mid to upper level machine like a Corvette and with Tajima being top notch like a Ferrari.

Give me a call I am a SWF Tech and former dealer. I would be happy to tell you the truth about the brand.

The other comment said Tajima is like a Ferrari I did not know they assembled a Ferrari in China Tajima is not the same machine it was prior to 2005.

When I purchased close to 15 years ago my final decision was between SWF and Tajima. Although the SWF training was great the machine didn't seem to be as well built so I went with Tajima. That machine is still running strong. From my observation some people have trouble with SWF machines. Some machines are fine but others present problems early on. Its hard to pass judgement because you never know how much operator error factors in. I have attended ISS AC for the last 14 - 15 years and have noticed that the SWF booth has diminished greatly. I'm not positive but I don't believe they were there last year. That says something about how they are doing. I wouldn't want to invest in a machine that's hard to get service or parts for.

I don't think "SWF" is closing their doors... Not sure about SWF-West, aka Mesa, SWF-East changed their name to ColDesi a few years ago. At the time, they were selling "SWF" machines which in reality were made by Sunstar in Korea... I think Sunstar is selling the machines themselves now and ColDesi is now pushing machines called Avance. Not a lot of data out there on them yet since they haven't been around that long.
