Tajima pulse install question

I'm trying to install the tajima pulse 2009 softwear. Do I need the dongle to install? I have it, just not with me. It's not installing on 2 different machines. One windows XP and one windows 7. Also, has anyone tried importing .ai files from Mac into pulse 13.1? Thanks
