Default Tajima TFMX vs. TMAR

Hi,
Has anybody any experience with the TMAR series, compared with the lower priced TFMX?

Experiance? I wish but I do study these machines and teach people about embroidery production and how things effect it in my spare time.
TMAR is the top of the line tool for master embroidery pros who work hard to know everything and create stunning detail and results.
TFMX is a tried and true machine that runs well for most people but is not as advanced in its settings, and is using 13 year old head designs. but that usually means that they have built them extreamly well cause they have ironed out all the manufacturing errors.

If you are experianced IE have 2-5 years of operator experiance and exceptional training in advanced machine settings and have used every tool/setting in your machine/software to try and achieve a higher quality end result and even actually change out needle size/types or threads to get a better result (actually very time consuming and usually not profitable at smaller quantities) then Stepping up to a TMAR would be right for you.
If you are like many people and set your machine to middle of the road setting and don't adjust settings much (IE get files from the digitizer and load them up as is, press go ect.) Than you'd be paying a lot more for features you wouldn't use.

That said TMAR can produce a much higher end result in the hands of that master operator and digitizer. But it would take you 5 years to learn how to use it to its maximum potential if your starting from scratch.
Its advanced features such as the digital presser foot that can control presserfoot timing and depth can be used to prevent crushing marring and puckering, and also can be used to stablize fabrics more effectively on smaller detail. It also has reduced needle wobble and stiffer hat drivers allowing for better registration. High Detail requires high stability and control.

I personally have seen absolute trash come from someone who has barudan/ZSK/Tajima. And I have seen and personally made stuff that comes out beautifully with a brother (very not good machine) So it really comes down to If you can maximize your use of the features and settings, and less about "is this machine better or problematic?"
AlisonB and Roca like this.

It is specifically designed to be used on puffy. If you can LEARN how to use all the settings correctly than possibly. But Modern Barudans have similar presser foot controls as well.

At that point it boils down to operator.

You would be hard pressed to find someone who can use both machines to that level of perfection to give a definitive answer.
