Tee Shirt Dryer--Must Sell

I have added a gas dryer and must sell this one quick. It is a National 60-12 dryer with an extra 8' on the in-feed making 12' in, 12' heat, and 4' out-feed and 60" wide belt. The electrical requirement is 3 phase 230v, 125 amps. Dryer is in good working order. It has new insulation, the temp controller and belt speed controller were replaced last year. Belt is still in very good condition. I have the original schematics and sources for all parts. We ran an automatic and 2 manual presses on this dryer. This would be pickup only. I am located in NE Arkansas in Jonesboro. I can get it loaded on your trailer or truck. a bargain at $1500, Cash.

The Model is 60-12, The year is approximately 1996. It Has 5 Infrared heating elements with air recirculating air from variable speed blowers.

I don't know that dryer or model but can you tell us if it's gas or electric? If it's gas then it's a hell of a deal. If it's all electric then it's still a good buy.

This is an electric dryer. The 125amps confirms it.

What year is it? What is the model #? Any more pictures of the rear? Does it have forced air?

anyway to make this single phase? I need bigger dryer but I do not have 3 phase power in my building.

I am pretty sure it could be wired for single phase since there are no components that require 3 phase. The problem would be the current load would be significantly higher than the 125amp load at 3 phase. You could consult an electrician about this. You could possible disconnect 1 of the 5 heating elements to reduce the load.

Are you sure?

Watts / Volts = Amps

So no matter the phase you still have to draw X watts with 230 Volts. Your Amp draw therefor shouldn't change.

Granted, I'm pretty ignorant on 3 phase but my understanding is it's more about HOW it's delivered vs how MUCH is delivered.

You are correct in that amp draw doesn't technically change, but the number of wires delivering power does which changes the load based on connection.

125A 230v 3 phase would be around 207A 240V single phase.
