Default Thread getting cut to short

Hello, I have a Highland 1201 embroidery machine. Iíve had it working fine for a year and a half, recently Iíve had to redo the needle timing and now the machine will embroid fine but when it cuts the thread at the end of the stitch the thread hook canít grab the thread to pull it back into the Velcro, it seems like itís getting cut to short and it jumps out of the needle, so I have to rethread each color after each cut, very aggravating, Iím not sure what Iím doing wrong, but if anyone knows how I can correct this I would appreciate your input.

Could it be breaking the thread? If so it could be bad thread or tension is not correct.

The trimmers of your machine is not sharp. The thread is snapped off the trimmers and because of the hook pulling to retain the thread becomes short. Change or adjust your cutting knifes
