Default toyota 860needle not picking up bobbin thread

I just purchased a toyota AD860 12 needle machine. I am new to embroidery. Here is my issue. The upper thread is not being picked up by the bobbin. I checked the timing I do not think I did it correctly. As I rotate the thing to make the needle move the bobbin case and insides do not rotate.

I would like any advice on this.

Thanks.

Chances are that the bobin is not well placed or the bobin threading is not properly placed. Follow the trend of threading the bobin.
Hope it will help

I've had this problem before too. I called in a tech and got it running again. He adjusted the timing a little and also said my bobbin thread was too tight and therefore pulling it back too much for it to pick up. One thing I did myself was replace my cutting knives and the little thin metal piece that holds the thread once cut. I noticed my probability of picking up the thread went up after that. Is it all the time or just after cutting? What about after you replace the bobbin and it's hanging out a few inches? The next thing I've done that's made it much more consistent is switch to magna glide bobbins. They're much more consistent than the bulk salas ones I've got. Expensive but worth it. Do you use the big M bobbin or the L?
