Cool True Fonts

I'm looking at purchasing a Happy voyager 1201 but the sales rep. said it doesn't do true fonts unless you buy the top of the line software. Is this the case with al the machines of this caliber? I really want it to do true fonts, You would think with the price of the machine it would be included.

Hi Makenzie,

I do not know of any commercial machine that runs true type fonts right out of the box. Embroidery is not like using a word processor. The fonts are actually digitized to tell the machine how to move and sew. There are pre-made fonts available from websites like embroidery.com and emblibrary.com.

Also, for cheaper software, you might checkout http://www.embird.com/ or http://www.drawstitch.com/

Good luck!

Pulse embroidery software also offers true type font conversion at the Illustrator level (not cheap).

Before purchasing software based on its TTF capabilities I would make sure that other users are happy with the conversion results. Generally speaking, the quality of a converted font can't match the quality of a digitized font. Some fonts convert better than others. Many fonts need to be edited after conversion.

I would purchase digitized fonts instead of purchasing software based on its TTF conversion abilities. You'll have better quality fonts for less cost.

I agree Jennifer. Forgot to mention about the quality for the converted fonts.

HI,
I agree with the others here. I use Wilcom software. The Digitised fonts work superbly, but the TT fonts when converted have many tie offs and are not that good quality.
