Re: Used Machines at Auctions
Can someone please move this thread out of the classifieds section and into the discussion forum where it belongs.
Thanks

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
Maybe I'm wrong. I thought this was a "classified forum" as in, for sale. At least that's what it says. This thread is a discussion about equipment. If not then what exactly are you advertising for sale?
Please move to discussions forum.

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
This is a pretty good site, great for buying / selling used equipment. But posts in the classified section with content like:
"These machines went for prices comparable to what I sell similar machines for with 100% Operational Warranty at set up and 90 day after set up Parts Exchange Warranty"
Taken from the original post wreak of a self serving advertisement saying "buy my equipment". That's not what this section of the forum is for. It clogs up the board so everyone else looking to list equipment for sale, or view those listings, has to navigate around it.
There is a section however for "discussions", and that's where this post belongs.

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
The topic is "Used Screen Printing Equipment" not "Used Screen Printing Equipment For Sale". The auction was "Used Screen Printing Equipment". Argh...sorry to step on your oh so sensitive toes.

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
well if you got a 10c gauntlet for 25k that doesn't sound that bad to me....you have to look at what other presses are going for and the condition...that shop had been around for 20 years and was very savvy how to take care of presses I am sure. There's no doubt in my mind that if a dealer got these then they would have sold for at least 40k.. right now you have a 6 color rs going for 18k and a 3 color going for 10k and a 14c challenger 2 that's 50k these are "refurbed" and all air heads.. so if a dealer got these 10 color loaded gauntlets with ac heads close to 40k I bet if not more...and as far as shipping crating etc the buyer almost always pays for that.. it would be interesting to have the prices listed online for the ac head presses not just this the air head presses...oh and who cares what section its in...lol..nobody reds the other sections...lol..everyone knows this is where the action is...lol...oh and also bill if you have a loaded gauntlet 10c and are asking 25-30k then I am interested...lol.. hope everyone has happy holidays

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
Thanks Catdaddy, you are right no one reads the other sections. Feedback is what I am looking for, a couple of the machines had issues when I inspected the units 8 days prior to the sale. I just would like know if the issues were addressed or if they were represented incorrectly at the sale.
I have a 8 Color GII Servo with air heads I am picking up this week. No 10 Color machines right now, however that could change in a hour.
I think the right price for nice warranted 10 - 12 GII is closer to $40k than $30k. A Sporty would be less (in the low to mid $30's). Sportsman are not as robust of machine as GII's they cost less and obviously they aren't as beefy.
When I sell a machine with a warranty a bit of risk goes along with that deal for me, a bottom end (ball screw, program, servo drive or worse all 3) is hell of a lot of money. You can inspect the machine "till the cows come home", but you can't 100% predict the failure on these components, the price is justified by the warranty. Everybody wants Servo drive, well it's expensive to repair, it's "just the nature of the beast".
People do not give these presses away, by the time you inspect, buy it, disassemble, crate and warranty the machine, the expenses & risks have to be covered from the sale price. I offer machines constantly without a warranty (for less $$$$), no one takes the deal, the warranty makes the deal every time.

You're wrong, this forum is classifieds, and the sub heading is used screen printing equipment. Although classifieds means "by class, or a type of arrangement", most take it to mean 'for sale'.
You're suggesting this forum is for "Used screen printing equipment discussion"? I'll even go one further, you're suggesting this forum is for 'used screen printing equipment AND discussion'? Don't you think the 'Discussion' forum is a bit redundant then. Why does it bother you so much that someone suggest you post your threads in the correct forum?
I'll bet I speak for more than just myself when I say it's a bit irritating to have to wade through a bunch of posts that don't even pertain to this forum just to get to what the forum is actually about, people listing their equipment for sale.

Re: Used Machines at Auctions
Let me make it easy. I copied these directly from this site, these are the headings for each forum. You can draw your own conclusion.
Discussions
Screen Printing
Talk about the many facets of screen printing, including business, equipment, and techniques.
Classifieds
Used Screen Printing Equipment
Buy/sell used manual and automatic presses, exposure units, electric and gas dryers, pressure washers, etc.
I can't make it any easier than that.
