Default Used Machines at Auctions

Two weeks ago today I was at an auction with lots of used printing equipment. It was all sold " As Is, Where Is No Warranties or Guarantees" . The equipment was all represented as to being in "Good Operating Condition". I would like the buyers of these items to reply to this thread with comments on the condition of the machines they purchased.

I was there for an thorough inspection (4 hours) 8 days prior to the auction. These machines went for prices comparable to what I sell similar machines for with 100% Operational Warranty at set up and 90 day after set up Parts Exchange Warranty. Just curious to get some feedback on the condition of their purchases.

I could not believe the prices they got for those machines. Especially considering there was an additional 18% buyers premium and then rigging fees to get the machines out of the auction site.

It will be interesting to hear if anyone on the site bought one of them.

I bought a crap ton of roller frames. I know the equipment was going for way more than I thought it would though.

Not a crazy price for Servo Drive w/AC head 10 - 12 Gauntlet II presses, however they should be in very good shape and fully operational for that amount of money. These did go at nearly $30k each plus buyer's premium, rigging, freight and set up. These were sold "AS IS" with no warranty, the condition determines whether or not they went for crazy money. If these required extensive repairs, then the buyers paid strong money for machines with these print counts.

I would like to get feedback on the condition from the purchaser(s) of these machines. Typically when a company is in a financial bind, maintenance and repairs are the first things to suffer cutbacks.

The point of this exercise is help set the values of similar used machines. These presses had in the neighborhood of 7M prints on them and even though they should not be past their operational life, they would require attention on a regular basis to maintain 100% functionality.
