Default Using embroidery machine to sew on patches

Seems simple enough to use the embroidery machine to sew on patches. Anybody do it? Do you use thicker thread or multiple outlines?

I would think you would just use a running stitch, but wouldn't that be a pain? having to hoop the garment, digitize the running stitch outline and sticking the premade patch to the fabric hoping it doesnt move by the time it gets back to the start?
SO much easier in my opinion to just sew on with sewing machine by hand.

My kid is in a Scout Troop. We tried it... Found it wasnt worth our time and like Robert said, easier to use a regular sewing machine.

Actually on 12 head and light spray tac you can sew 12 patches much much faster than a sewing machine.

ha, I would put the ladies here that I have seen against your 12 head any day! lol any of them could get most done before your operator was even ready to start the machine. Plus you still would have the digitizing and spray tack cost and cleanup...

Placement would matter too of course.. a sleeve could be a real pain on a 12 head.. with all that extra fabric hanging down off the hoop, not sure if light spraytack would do it.

Yes I have used a multi head to sew on flag patches onto football jerseys for the high school. You basically create a lay down stitch for the flag just like you would do with premade designs from stahls, spray adhesive the patch, and then I used a bean stitch for the permanent sew down.
