I am interested. I am new to the industry and want to learn to digitize. My tech recommended Wilcom. I was considering something less expensive, but I like that Wilcom has Corel. Is the training good?

I bought a Toyota machine that came with WilcomES2006 and DrawingsX3 software. I can use Drawings because I used Corel Draw for my screen printing business.
I don't use the Wilcom because it seems hard to learn. The manual has over 1000 pages.

Maybe I am not computer literate enough to teach myself, but Drawings was sure easy to learn.

What would you suggest?

Thanks

Well, I dont use Deco Studio (means with corel option). What I use is 2006 of Wilcom.
Do you think Corel helps? I dont think Corel helps so much in Deco. Anyhow i am using Corel by DXF import to Wilcom.
I realy do not think the Corel implementation (in Deco) can help me a lot more than the vectorization which DXF import can provide.
So. Wilcom is fine without Corel.
Take it, and prepare to learn
Wish you good luck!

Hi Nolefan,
Wanna say first, I am not a native english speaking.
Wilcom is a big chalange to learn but for those that realy are on the base "zero"
If you have some kind of experience, you better take the chalange. I should check about your Toyota, to see what you have owned, but for sure your Wilcom 2006 is a powerful option. However it needs lot of time and care. If you have time and money to spend I sugest you start some kind of lessons. Even online.
As I am too far from you, but allthough I have had several persons that I have teached (alive only till now), the only thing I can offer you is to see if I can represent lessons especialy for you online. However its realy hard to manage online.
Better you start somehow and ask questions. That way probably will cost you nothing at last.
Thanks for your asking
Nik

Gisela, if we lived in same country we could talk a lot more about that amazing product. It would take lot of time for sure, as learning of Wilcom is a big deal anyway, but seems you may become interested.

yahh! ;-) I forgot to mention that I've been using sierra for the last 7 years, I've learn on my own ( my version of the program doesn't allowed any tutorial) ;-)
but as always, wilcom is interesting to me. I know, in the end is just the digitizer talent behind any great embroidery, and I am quiet happy with my gratis version of sierra (7.5) but I can only use it in one pc and that one has became untouchable do to the risk of loosing this copy and not all functions available. Therefore I may consider to buy an original product and if so, Wilcom is something I would pay for. But not today! I hope I can hear a lot more
about this software here
