I am new to this and have a decision to on what is the best printing method on polyester85%/spandex 15% fabric. I will be printing logos and t-shirt like designs up to 4 colors. Someone told me that heat transfer printing (Use Roasting Picture Machine to Roast the pattern on the fabric ) would work, but that I could also use plastisol ink printing but said this method is 3x more expensive than heat transfer printing. Can someone please tell me what print method is best and will hold up and not crack when stretched. There will be 50K of these printed and I want to make sure the quality is good but economical.
Thanks! |

You can do it heat transfer, but it will depend on what paper you get. I have transfered to spandex and it works pretty well. Of course when you stretch the fabric you will see some white, but that is unavoidable.

If you're printing that many shirts, it makes no sense to use heat transfers. Plastisol transfers, when purchased in quantities of say 25 or more will, I think, be cheaper than heat transfers in the long run. It will also save you tons of time, and time is money!

Warning:
When printing on POLYESTER you'll need to use an ink that is made FOR polyester. If you use regular plastisol the color of the fabric will sublimate because of the gases released from the substrate's dye and will ultimately bleed through the ink. (long after you get them off the dryer). QCM makes a Polyester inks in white, yellow, and I believe red. J.R.
