Re: What do you think of Happy embroidery machine HCD 1501
Being new... and not knowing what you don't know of course..AND being so far away from tech support.... I vote for the brand new Tajima. The resale value , the number of people who can help you that are not actual techs, and the volume of info on the internet are all pluses for this machine.
Now, that being said, once you know what you are doing then either the Happy or SWF would be fine second machines (I am assuming they are preowned) But i would never suggest a person new to embroidery start with a pre-owned. You wont know if the problem is you, the machine, or simply the weather! They are not just plug and play copy machines that happen to use thread vs ink. The learning curve and needles in fingers are realistic concerns!
Would not touch the Feiya /Ricoma options. EVER
Mine are all SWFs but I started on Tajimas... but have worked in companies that have had Brothers, Happys, ZSK, Barudans , Melcos and yes, a few Chinese machines that were really just giant static art pieces. ha
