Default What machine best for upgrade

Hi there. I'm new here. Lots of great info! I have been embroidering for over a year on a Brother PE770. I sell items on ebay and Etsy but the machine can't keep up with my orders. The biggest problem is the hooping and centering of my items. It takes me so long to get my items perfectly centered, especially shirts. Between making sure the item is hooped straight and repositioning on the computer I waste so much time! It's to the point I want to throw the machine out when I have large orders. Now that the Christmas rush is over, I'm making new items and realize I love my business just hate my machine for large orders.

I have been looking at the Brother PR 1000 & Quatro 6000 and Babylock machines, so expensive but with the positioning camera and higher stitch count I'm thinking I would quadruple my productivity. Does anyone have advice on these machines? Are there older models with the camera positioning? Maybe I can find used. Are there other machines out there with the camera positioning? I've gone to a few dealers but feel like I'm buying a used car. Need advice from those not profiting off my decision.

Thank you for your help!

I'm not sure I am able to help, I have a Barudan commercial 15 needle, about 4 years old. I would recommend it any day if looking to upgrade I have absolutely loved it. I've never heard of the camera positioning...so this must be a new technology, my Barudan doesn't have one and I haven't heard of this. I would love to know how this works with hooping?

Commercial Machines will make all the difference in your production speeds. We use the Hoopmaster with our ZSK machines and one operator can normally keep around 10 heads running with no problems, sometimes more if the stitch count is higher. Commercial equipment is more expensive but in the long run you are so much better off with a good quality commercial machine that will save you a ton of time. We have no problems hooping items and then centering the embroidery in the hoops. Today we were doing a logo on the center of dress shirt pockets and not sewing the pocket shut. That was tricky but we did not really have any problems.

Unless you really feel you can keep another machine (4 heads or more) running at least half the year, you are better off contracting out the work to a more experienced shop. There are dozens of guys on this site that run 12 heads or less who could be cost effective on small runs. If you need runs of 50 dozen or more of a style, there are still a few guys like me that will take in contract work at a reasonable price. You can easily get me at [email address]

Singer embroidery machines combine the ability to sew with computerized embroidery stitching. ... Best Balance of Price and Features.

Oh, and by the way, if you just pin the center point on EACH Piece, then line the needle with the pin, all you need to worry about is the framing (hooping).
