Unhappy WHat should I charge for items brought in?

A client has the shirts that he wants printed and only needs me to print the apparel.

The client wants 6 sets (totaling 208 pieces) with 2 prints on each (same back screen for all tees). It's a total of 4 screens (splitting 2 graphics per screen) and is black ink on white tees.

What should I charge per piece to just print the apparel.

Thanks,
jm

Hi....My husband has had some shirts printed up. We provided the shirts for the screen printer. They charged us a one time fee for the set up of the art work and $8.00 per shirt. To tell the truth I can't remember how much they charged for the set up fee. I hope this helps.

Of course, charge the set up fee. The best way that I did it was to figure out what my profit would have been if I had ordered the shirts, then subtract the cost of the shirt plus shipping. That should give you a pretty good idea on how much to charge.

Hope this helps ya JM.

We're always pretty frank with most customers that bring in product. I tell them that since I can't make any money on the shirt I charge a little more for the print. Most people understand. I usually charge a setup fee and a few bucks per shirt depending on what I am doing. It really depends on what your market will bear. If I tried to charge $8.00 for printing your shirts, I'd go out of business in a hurry. I wish I could sometimes though.
