Default What's the best Direct to Garment Printer out now?

Hi, i'm trying to find the best Direct to garment Printer. I have new customers wanting custom t-shirts but not in a large quantity. I would like to know what is the best equipment that will enable me to print on dark garments, easy to transport, durable and screen set-up free. Price is important, but not as important as the quality and durablity of the product. If there is anyone out there that's familiar with any Direct to Garment printers, please comment. Happy Holidays

Thanks in Advance

Demond

Instead of buying a Direct to Garment Printer, you can use screen printed heat transfers. They work just the same as screen printing. You can get them from a few different Companys. One is called TransferExpress.com Another is called First-Edition.com They make low runs.

Brother has a new model coming out for printing dark garments. I havent seen it yet but I know the original GT541 printer is a work horse. I have over 12,000 prints and never had a single problem.

personally, i havent seen a DTG yet with white ink that I'm crazy about. each has their issues.

the idea of transfers mentioned by Antstro is a good one. Its the same ink as direct screen printing. I'd check into that.

The brother unit sounds interesting but not at $50K+.... Sorry but you could
buy multiple units from another manufacturer for that amount...

Plastisol transfers make sense if you are doing roughly a dozen shirts or more.
For one-two shirts, it's really not cost effective.

We sell different brands but the one I like personally the most is the Freejet. From the ripping software to the build of the machine, it's just a lot better than what's out there now. They aren't a huge company but the support you get from the manufacturer is top notch. I deal with them consistently and they are very proactive about being ahead of the game in the DTG market. Check out our website where you can see all their machines and some video on how they work.

Hey I have a 6 month old Anajet that prints on light and dark garments and a George Knight heat press. I have all of the rip software, driver cd, tech cupport disc and ink, and pretreatment for this machine. This is in Excellent condition. I am looking to get $14000 or best offer. I paid over $18000 less then 6 months ago. Everything is still under warranty. I bought this because it ranked 2nd best image DTG. Check all of the forums tshirt forum as well. You will see the only other machine that beat this was the Kronett DTG which cost over $100,000. And they said the only reason they put that at #1 was because it cost $100000. And the person that ranked them washed and dried the shirts light and dark shirts 16 times. And Kornett and Anajet were basically a tie. But they did give Kornet the #1 spot due to the price of the machine. I bought this machine because I was going to open a mall kiosk. That never panned out so I have been using this in my sign shop. I have maintained this machine and it is in perfect condition. Also I have seen tjet printers, and flexifet printers and the washability is not impressive. Brother is good as well but you are limited to light garment only. If interested call me at 413-346-8840 or 413-743-2161 if I don't answer please leave a message. Or email me at [email address] Thanks

The best DTG are the one from Oprintjet.com. I bought their A2 and that was the best DTG i had so far.

It also really depends if you have enough work to keep the printer going everyday. We have a FreeJet that prints great and we run jobs all day. Surprisingly, most of our work is contract printing for other printers.

Every DTG has its own positives and negatives, but from my experience Kornit has some distinct advantages to their printers. The first being its self-contained pretreatment system, which takes an entire step out of the process. The other advantage is the least expensive per-print on the market.
