Question Where Are The Good Digitisers?

I run 3 embroidery machines in the UK offering contract embroidery plus we embroider our own garment sales work.
I generate about 30 digitising jobs a month which we send to a local UK digitiser. I would like to save money by going "offshore", however, whenever I have tried this the standard of digitising I have had from overseas is really poor.
Where are the good quality digitisers who can offer me good service at the right price?
Let me know where you are!

I think you've just answered your own question. If you have a design that needs to look good, send it to your trusted digitizer and pay him/her whatever it's worth. We do all of our digitizing in-house and would never trust our more complicated designs to overseas vendors. We've tried roughly 50 different ones and they are inconsistent at best. When in a bind, we send only the simple designs out and hope for the best.

Hi Wickerman,

If I can throw my two bob's worth in!
The real cost of digitising is not the initial fee you pay to have the job done but the downtime that can be caused by too many trims of poor digitising that costs production time at the machine. The $30 - 30 pound or euro you might save on the initial purchase can soon be eaten up with downtime at the machine. Oh you might guess from our site we are digitisers but in a previous business life we were embroiderers and can speak from costly experience.

Regards

John
P.S. We would be happy to offer our services and can guarantee top quality and quick friendly service

The big trick here is not to get the "me too - I can digitize it for you and I'm GREAT" bit. No offense to any of you here and I'm sure there's some talent, but I farm out a lot of my digitizing. I feel like I have tried just about everybody, too.

I have been really happy with Juliana at Stitch Wizard Digitizing. They are based in San Diego but, of course, I've never seen their shop. Everything is email these days.

Their web page is here: http://www.stitchwizarddigitizing.com/site/

They usualy turn my designs in one business day and they are very quick to turn modifications that I may have on the design. I'm really picky so the places in China and India just haven't done it for me. Plus, they will deliver in Wilcom .emb format so I can make size adjustments with the free Wilcom sizer.

So far, so good. I have been using Stitch Wizard for about two years now.

David
