ADA Sign Tipping Non-Textile Raised Graphics

Do any of you guys have any experience screening raised copy on ADA signs or any type of raised copy. The copy is .040" off the face of the sign

I currently screen print all of our signage and have trouble hitting the face of the sign, which is a mess when the face is painted and cleaning it screws up the paint.

We are currently using a high mesh screen count 285 and are printing with an open screen. Using emulsion is out of the question because while all of our signs in a job are generally the same size, the text varies, but we do block the screen past the edge of the sign. My best results seem to be with the screen about 1/16" off the sign, but still have the issues above

Any input on techniques or equipment/accessories would be greatly appreciated.
