Lasering on pewter

Has anyone tried laser marking on pewter? I have a client that wants to know if I can do it. I talked to the CerMark guy this morning and he said it should work if I turned the speed down. I hate to tell my client yes without hearing about some real world applications. Does anyone have experience?

I would check with Laser Bits. They sell pewter items and should have a tech paper on how to do it.

It looks fantastic. The black is true black. I used one of my junk pieces (nobody has any of those) and engraved a logo. Normal speed for that you would use for cermark on anything else. Looked great and I even took a key to scratch a line into the pewter so the customer could see what it would take to get the black off.

Sounds great. I did get the client to leave a sample with me to try. Sounds like it will work fine. I’ll try it this afternoon. Thanks for the input.
