Laserpro Spirit

I am a newbie to the laser field; I mainly do sandblasting on glass but wish to expand my interest to laser engraving glass and other materials. I am considering the LaserPro Explorer but see that LaserPro have a new model, the Spirit that is the same size as the Mercury (smaller than the Explorer) and priced between the two for the same wattage. Dose anyone knows the advantage of this model or any other pointers to look for when considering an investment in a laser.

P.S. Anyone interested in sandblasting take a look at the sandcarvers group, this is also a very helpful and informative group on all aspects of sandblasting.

We had a LOT of teething problems with our Explorers (we got some of the first ones) so with the Spirit, I would suggest waiting a few months before purchasing one so that any potential problems can be ironed out Looks like a nice machine though, prolly the Mercury platform with the Explorers motion system and a coherent Deos source rather then the Mercurys Synrad - but that’s merely conjecture.

Thank you Rodney for your input a good point, most if not all new models be it cars or lasers seem to have teething troubles so I will wait a bit (if I can hold out)or go for the explorer a more established platform.
